About Dublin

Dublin is part of 2,000 acres of land given to an officer who served in the Revolutionary War. In the early 1800s, the John Sells family purchased 400 acres of this land along the Scioto River. This land is now Historic Dublin where its historic past has been preserved. Shops and homes were side by side. Quarries along the river supplied the stone for buildings and fences, many of which remain today. Even now one can walk to the Dublin spring along the Scioto River where early citizens would have drawn water for their campsites.

Dublin has grown to be one of the gems of central Ohio. It’s the home of the world famous Muirfield Village Golf Club and residential community. Dublin takes great pride in its St. Patrick’s Day Parade; and the first weekend in August the Irish Festival is held—one of the world’s largest Irish celebrations. The city of Dublin is vibrant with over 100 miles of bike paths and more than 50 parks. Year-round activities include ice skating and sledding. Access is provided to the Indian Run gorge and waterfalls with nature trails, a bridge across the falls and shelter houses.

Many of Dublin’s over 60 schools are rated 8-10 in the Great Schools ratings and in ratings by parents they receive four out of five-star ratings. Not enough can be said for the Dublin area, with its close proximity to the Columbus Zoo, minutes from I-270 and less than 20 minutes to downtown Columbus.
