About Johnstown

Johnstown is part of a 4,000-acre tract given to John Brown, a revolutionary soldier in 1800. Johnstown is a working community with many opportunities for employment, housing, recreation and cultural activities. It is home to several corporate offices whose employers are dedicated to the community and offer opportunities for residents.

There are eight schools in the area, most of which scored seven to nine in the Great Schools ratings. While maintaining a small village atmosphere, Johnstown offers a full range of businesses and shops. Bigelow Park is open to the public and houses the Monroe Township Hall and Opera House. The park contains a bandstand, benches, green space and seating areas and is a main gathering place for festivals and other village activities throughout the year.

The Johnstown Youth Athletic association provides to children of all ages the opportunity to learn to play sports, as well as learning sportsmanship. They offer programs in baseball, softball, soccer, football, basketball and cheerleading.

Located near the junction of Routes 62 and 37, Johnstown is just 30 minutes north of Columbus.
